Taylor Sheridan
Singer/songwriter Taylor Sheridan, started his career as a young teenager in Rural Victoria and describes his music as ‘soulfully acoustic’ with influences varying from Stevie Wonder all the way to James Taylor.
While country isn’t really my bag, this isn’t country enough for me to preclude it from criticism.
All the appropriate boxes ticked, in a postage stamp worth of clunky cliches about one’s love for their little town.
Addictive harmonies in the chorus and, aside from a few…icky lyrics, an absolutely perfect sound bite for those interstitial station breaks for regional television *kids on bikes, riding past a beach where a man flies a kite next to a pretty lady sunbathing in Ballina, Fairy Meadow or Grafton…ah Hometown Love.
Not brilliant, not shit and certainly crafted well enough to warrant keeping an ear out for what Mr Sheridan has for us next.
